The only mention of the Ixion Mine is a brief notice telling of this new "discovery" on
Scott Hill in August of 1871.(1)
The mine was referred
to as the "sister" property
of the Board of Trade Mine nearby. Both properties were said to be in good ore by late September of that year, and it was
hoped they would find even richer material before the winter set in.(2)
No images of this mine are known.
The exact location of this mine is not yet
known.
