The first mention of the Board of Trade is a brief notice telling of this new "discovery" on
Scott Hill in August of 1873.(1)
The mine was referred to as the "sister"
property of the Ixion mine nearby. Both properties were said to be in good ore by late September of that year, and it was
hoped they would find even richer material before the winter set in.(2)
