The Nixon Mine in City Creek Canyon was a very small property. Brief mentions are made in August
of 1873 in the Salt Lake Daily Herald paper stating that "work
has been suspended on the Nixon until material is obtained to timber", That was on August 1. (1)
A report in the August 28th issue of the same paper detailed that the mine was being sold
to "men with money". Once completed,
work would resume shortly. (2)
The exact location of this mine
is not yet known.
