We at UTAHMININGHISTORY.org believe Utah has a great
mining heritage, a heritage that should be shared in both words and images. We also believe that while it is not true of all sites, some abandoned mining sites can, and do,
present hazards to anyone who may not respect or pay attention to the area they are exploring.
To help educate young people about Utah's great mining heritage as well as the dangers that may be
present at these sites, we have included a complete copy of:
MINING UTAH'S HERITAGE, The
Story of Mining in Utah
This booklet
has been published by the Utah Division of Natural Resources, Division of Oil. Gas and Mining. It is designed to educate Utah's elementary school
students about dangers or hazards that may be present in or around abandoned mines. It is specifically designed to address and enhance Standard
